HARD CANDY RECIPE – GINGER
Ingredients:
¼ cup pure cane sugar
1 tablespoon light corn syrup
2 tablespoons warm water
⅛ teaspoon salt
⅛ teaspoon ginger
1 or 2 dashes of nutmeg
Mix all ingredients together in a
small pan…
Cooking time:
About 20 minutes -
Make sure to set your burner on medium-low, letting it come
to a soft bubble, and then bring to a lower boil.
Your mixture should be a light caramel
color, kind of like light maple when it’s ready.
Preparing:
Lay down 1 sheet of aluminum foil and coat top with powdered
sugar ( 1 tablespoon )
Without getting burnt, pour hot liquid onto powdered surface
– let it set for about a minute or less.
Letting it be hot enough to cut and roll up, but cool enough
not to scorch your fingers.
And wah-LAH! Your hard
candy is now ready to serve…
Serves about 10 - 15
